new here...

im getting married in 3 months and am currently playing around with flowers.  All my centerpieces will consist of submerged flowers and i was wondering if anybody knew what the weight thingy with the needles that poke upwards, so that the flowers stay in place and dont float are called.  you kinda stab the flower stems and then they stand upright and in the water.

Hope that didnt confuse you guys..

Hello! I'm a wedding photographer in Colorado, and I've seen some incredible flower arrangements lately! I thought I'd post some of my favorites from the last few months. Enjoy!

My FH, MOH (my sister), my bridesmaid and one of the groomsmen (my bridesmaid's husband) went to a wedding show yesterday that was... okay. It was fancy for sure, but I managed to get a couple of door prizes of centerpieces and a bouquet!

I though I would share them with you just for some inspiration...

Cut for some beautiful centerpieces and my bouquet!Collapse )

*edit* X-posted a few times!

Bridal work from a wedding we did last weekend. These were inspired by a bouquet I saw in Martha Stewart. These in fact may be the most beautiful bouquets I've ever made. The bride was a pleasure to work with. There is church work and table centrepieces to show, too, but I will leave those for another day.

How long does it usually take to get a quote for wedding flowers? I went and spoke to a few florists almost 3 weeks ago, and have not received a phone call back from any of them...is this normal?
I guess I'm a little worried, because I originally gave them both my cell phone #, but then my cellphone broke and I called them both to give them my home number to call, but have not received any response. I guess I'm just worried that maybe they lost my note about the cell # not working anymore, but would BOTH of them have lost it?
Should I call the florists, or does it usually take longer to get a quote on wedding flowers?

A few photos from a wedding today. The bride had a hand-tied teardrop bouquet, including white germini, Avalanche roses, white astilbe, and white bridal gladioli.

The bridesmaids had sheaf style bouquets, hand-tied. I love this style of bouquet because it has beautiful movement, looks and feels very summery. They included bridal glads, astilbe, Avalanche roses, lilac phlox, lisianthus, and eucolyptus.

The buttonholes were just Avalanche roses, but the bride asked for baby blue ribbon, which I thought looked very charming and retro, like for a 1950s prom date.

Really enjoyed this one, especially making the bridesmaids' bouquets, something different for a change:)
